What should I expect during my first visit?

Welcome to Your First Visit

During your initial visit, we warmly invite you to meet our dedicated team, who will guide you through the beginning steps of your treatment journey. You will embark on orientation modules designed to lay the foundation for a successful path forward in your care and join your first Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Group session.

An experienced Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) will conduct a comprehensive orientation that includes an insightful tour of our facility, an overview of your daily schedule, a review of our policies and your rights as a client, and a briefing on emergency procedures. This is a perfect opportunity to talk about any questions you might have. Our goal is to ensure that you feel fully informed and comfortable as you start this important journey with us.

How are treatment plans developed?

Your Initial Journey with Your Primary Clinician

In your first week, during a scheduled session, you and your primary clinician will engage in a comprehensive assessment. This critical step helps us understand your unique needs and why you sought our help. Following this assessment, you and your clinician will collaborate to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored specifically to you.

Together, you’ll explore and identify the challenges that led you to seek our services. You’ll also set both long-term and short-term goals and outline the interventions that will support you in achieving these objectives. How long does treatment typically last?

The typical duration of participation in our program ranges from 10 to 12 weeks. However, we recognize that each individual’s journey is unique, and the length of stay can vary according to personal needs and progress.

Who will be involved in my care?

Our team is led by an attending clinical director, who oversees the clinic’s operations and the overall clinical well-being of our clients. Your primary clinician is dedicated to your direct care, working closely with you to navigate your treatment path. Additionally, a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) supports your day-to-day interventions and services, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience.

All team members have received advanced training through the Bravology Institute, equipping them with the expertise to offer exceptional care. Our collaborative approach is designed to provide a supportive, effective, and personalized treatment experience, ensuring you feel supported every step of the way.

Can I switch therapists if I feel it’s not a good fit?

The Value of a Positive Therapeutic Relationship

A strong and positive relationship with your therapist is key to facilitating meaningful change. It’s essential that you feel a good connection and compatibility with your therapist to ensure the most effective therapeutic experience. If at any point you feel that the fit between you and your therapist isn’t quite right, we encourage you to express your concerns. You can request a change of therapist by scheduling a meeting with our clinical director.

What is your policy on medication?
