Day 2: How Worry Maintains Anxiety

Yesterday, you learned that anxiety isn’t random — it’s a protection system.

Today, we look at something even more important:

Why worry keeps repeating itself. Worry often feels productive. Responsible. Necessary. It tells you that if you think about something long enough, you can prevent it. Control it. Prepare for it. But here’s the hard truth: Worry can quietly become the thing that keeps anxiety alive.

In Day 2, you’ll learn:

  • The real function of worry
  • The worry cycle (trigger → threat → distress → neutralizing response)
  • How short-term relief reinforces long-term anxiety

When you can see the cycle clearly, you stop blaming yourself for being “stuck.” You start recognizing the pattern.

Watch the video first, then complete the workbook. As you go through today’s material, notice: Where does your worry feel most convincing? What does it promise you? You don’t have to shut worry down today. You’re just learning how it works. And when you understand the loop, you gain the ability to step out of it.

This program remains psychoeducational and skills-based. It is not therapy or medical care. If you are experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or others, please seek immediate support. In the U.S., you can call or text 988.

You’re building awareness. That’s not small.

See you tomorrow.
